HAPPY MOM'S DAY!

I am wishing all the mom's a very happy day today...it's your day...

Thank you for taking such good care of your kids...human and

canine...I'm going to take my mom out for a nice walk or drive!!
I'm happy to say after a full day of rain, I can go out and play! I waited and watched

for a glimpse of a little sun... It's good to go out for a nice walk, after a long day of snoozing,

snoring, and dreaming! I ate my dinner of fresh chicken and rice, and I'm ready to rumble,

I mean walk nicely on my leash.

Tonight when we walk downtown and go window shopping, I can make believe I'm a

human tourist in the maze of strangers.   It's Thursday night, and my mom sometimes let's

me have yogurt or vanilla ice cream, if I walk nicely on my leash.  First, we will have a stroll

in the park, then we'll go sightseeing, people watching, and window shopping. Then comes

desert.

We stop to listen to a man singing Elvis songs at an outdoor bar. He thinks he really sounds

like Elvis, but he's a make believe Elvis singer...The echo of his guitar and voice is heard all the

way to the Intercoastal bridge, downtown Delray.  We listened to him for a few seconds, and then

I beg my mom for my treat of ice cream or yogurt. We continue walking, past many of the outdoor

cafes and I can smell other good smells.  I'm getting very happy; It's almost time for my desert..

I walk very, very nicely now, and don't pull on my leash..I saw a cute, fluffy boy dog, I'd

like to meet. He was sitting in a cozy chair at one of the outdoor cafes we passed, but nothing is

more exciting than getting my well deserved treat!

Finally, we are close to the ice cream parlor.  Mom asks me to wait outside.  She is going to

get me, my good dog treat! YEAHHHH! YIPPY!!!

         EVERY DOG NEEDS A JOB!

Today is my first day to begin my blog! I will write

about my life and what my Mom and I are up to....or

I will write about my adventures in South Florida.

In our economy, every human and dog needs a good job! Yesterday, I had a job interview

for an assignment as a Registered Therapy dog at a local hospital's Rehabilitation Center.

My mom took me to the interview, but, let me drive the car to our appointment. When we

entered the lobby, we were greeted  by many people..The first person we

met at the front desk, was Norma, a lady who met every human and canine

that came inside the building. Some human said she was what they call a

receptionist. She was a "Greeter" who called Becky the

Director of Volunteers to come  and meet us.  Becky was

was a nice lady and she, my mom and I went to her office.

We all watched a VIDEO about keeping patients information

a little like a secret.  I got a chance to snooze in her office,

even though I was at a job interview! That was a surprise..

Then Becky walked with my mom and I in the hallways.

I was a good girl, and I had fun. I let a few people give me

a belly rub.

I smiled and laughed, and I think I made a few new friends.

When the video was over, we went to meet a lady in a white coat Sue, who was a  nurse.

She had to stick my mom in the arm for a test with a needle.  After  that, we  met another lady

Lauren. She was very friendly, and of course I got another belly rub, and hugs. We said

goodbye to Becky, and Lauren took us for a walk in the halls.  We went into what is called

an elevator. I was a little scared at first but then it was ok, no big deal.. I walked right in like

a grown up... I'm a big girl now! I liked Lauren cause I

could tell she knew doggies! She told me she had a friend

at home just like me, only a different color. She took my

mom and I for another walk and we met even more

people, and another nurse.  Many people were doing

what they called rehab therapy. I guess rehab therapy includes me getting more belly rubs,

and laughing, and smiling... What a great new job! I hope I see my new friends again soon.

If I got this job, I'll get a shiny badge to wear.  I can be proud of wearing this badge, so

when I come back to visit, everybody will know who I am.."Tweedle"... Surry's Talk of The

Town is Tweedle;  a Registered Therapy Dog who comes to visit us, and share her love and

joy with the patients who are getting better here!
YES EVERY DOG NEEDS A JOB!

I GOT A JOB TODAY!

I don't get money, but I'm gonna get a good snack or 2,

and maybe a delicious meal, for visiting people who are what they

call rehabbing.. I know I'll get a lot of kisses and hugs, and I will

be able to give a few kisses...Then I can come home to my comfy

couch at home,..especially after a long day at work.  It's official!

I am happy to say I got a job as a Registered Therapy Dog at the

local Rehab hospital. Here I am with a friendly lady Doreen, who took my picture and then my mom's

picture for our I. D. Badge. I will think of this badge as a "Badge of Honor", I will proudly wear it when

I come to visit my friends at the Rehab Hospital. I was told I might get a free meal and maybe my mom

would get one too, as a benefit of my new job. My mom needs to visit with me, as I'm not allowed to

travel by myself. Wow! What a great new job....I will surely get a few snacks, belly rubs, laughs, and

smiles.I also get to give and get kisses and hugs.  I will be able to sniff and smell new smells, when I

walk down the halls. My job is an important job.  I will help people who hurt themselves feel better.

I will be what they call "a member of a team of Volunteers" , who help out at the hospital.

This afternoon I will take a snooze on my comfy couch, before i do my other job at home;

Chasing the cats out of my yard.  My mom whispered to me, "Tweedle, if you are good all day and don't

pull on your leash, you can sleep in my bed with me tonight. She says i'm a bed hog...(ha,ha, ha, ha,)...

I whispered to my mom and said: "I'm a dog who has done an honest day of dog work , and I deserve

to sleep in your comfy bed with you tonight, ha, ha, ha, I said. She smiled and said ok.We'll see about

that later!

HERE I AM ..."DOG TIRED"

What's a Dog to Do?

I'm watching the birds flying by from the window.

My mom doesn't want me to go outside to play today,

cause I'll get too wet. She says I'll mess up the floor. I will have a nice snooze on the couch.

My couch, ...hmm, my couch is my sleeping paradise..ha ha ha ha. I snore a little, but every

dog I know snores a little..and you know what....many humans snore too...

Sometimes I have a very good dream, about chasing squirrels, rabbits, lizards, and cats, and

sometimes, my mom says I shake when I am snoozing and snoring. Sometimes, i rock the boat

I mean the bed...when I sneak a snooze in her bed...!

I like to lay down on my nice maple floor, cause it's cool...my kitchen floor is cool too..I like to

lay down on my living room floor best, cause i can watch out the window for exciting news..

like seeing when a pussycat is closeby.. Last night I gave a pussycat a run for her money....

now wait a minute, do pussycats carry money? Do they even have any money? well now birds,

surely don't have any money, so maybe pussycats don't have money.. or maybe the pussycat

keeps her money in a secret vault or at the bank.. ha ha ha ...she was fast...but I'm fast too!

I chased her all around the yard.  After I did my duty to chase the cat last night,  I walked

back into the house, and had a nice snack..2 chicken liver Tweedlenips. Today I took a snooze

and dreamt about eating 100 chicken and carrot Tweedlebites. When I woke up, I looked to see

if the sun was shining through my window. Yep, it was, and I thought maybe the pussycat will

visit me tonight, and we can play chase... again.....we'll see!
HOT DIGGITY DOG ..The Sun is out!

   A Sleepy Dog Day Afternoon

My mom says I'm a sensitive girl. I wanna be a  healthy girl

so I let the Doc give me the needle with the vaccine stuff on

Friday. The next day, I was sore, and I didn't want to go

outside to do my business, or eat. Can you believe,  I didn't

wanna eat? Hmm, me not eat!!! That is rare! I never turn down

a meal! The Doc told my mom, he thinks I had an allergic reaction to the vaccine. He used a new

company's vaccine on me.  We gotta be careful about which vaccines to use. My mom let me

sleep all day. I sat in my room, for a little bit, and looked out my window. I cried a little cause

I didn't like getting poked with the needle. Now I hurt.. I need to feel better. The couch

was not big enough for me to stretch out on, so mom let me sleep in her comfy bed. I hope I am

stronger tomorrow.

                         ON THE ROAD AGAIN!

I'm feeling pretty good after an allergic  reaction to a new vaccine.

Humans don't like to drive slowly. When they see me behind the wheel, they look surprised and drive by me

way too fast. They think I'll stop in the middle of traffic, and let my friends, the waddling ducks cross the

street, making them slow down. The  human drivers don't like to slow down, or stop for anyone or anything.

When humans drive too fast they are not always careful. They miss seeing all the nice trees, fire hydrants,

McDonalds, Burger Kings, Kentucky Fried, and other friendly signs. Some humans don't appreciate all the

good smells on the road, like pretty roses. Sometimes humans are in too much of a rush.  I'D LIKE TO ASK

THE HUMANS "Where are they rushing to"?

Here I am driving down the Boulevard, and a human is driving too close

to my car, behind me. I guess this is what the humans call "tailgaiting".

The human drivers are on my tail, and it's too close for comfort.

I tell you, I don't understand why the humans get angry, if someone stays

too long at what they call a traffic light, they get so excited. These humans

don't like to wait for any other human, or critter including me; a careful driver

traveling on the road.   I'd like to give these humans a nice bone to chew on, till they find pieces of meaty

treasures hiding out in the middle of the bone. That would teach the humans about how to wait....ha, ha,

ha, ha,.... but then If I give a human my bone, I won't have a bone to pick on for me....ho hum!

I am becoming a little bit of a celebrity. Mom says when I'm not with her, people always ask how is Tweedle?

Where is Tweedle? Therapy Dogs Inc Annual Magazine Summer 2010 has a story about me in it..It's interesting to

hear how my mom turned Heartbreak into Victory... Read the article on our Media page.
