research project on  The Genetic Basis of Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia  in Labrador Retrievers, conducted
by  Dr Meg Sleeper, VMD, DACVIM (Cardiology) and  Dr. Paula Henthorn (Ph.D. Genetics)

GOAL OF RESEARCH: - To find the Genetic Marker causing Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia (TVD),
a congenital heart defect and disease, and develop a blood test to detect this illness, similar to the
Optigen Test which rules out Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and other eye diseases.
